Greenwich to Celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride 2025 on Sunday, June 1 at Town Hall

On June 1, everyone is invited to Greenwich Town Hall to celebrate Greenwich’s LGBTQ+ community.

Starting at 1:00 pm, elected officials, and both religious and community leaders will gather with LGBTQ+ leaders and residents, families and allies to honor the kickoff to Pride Month with a formal program and Pride flag raising.

Following the ceremony there will be a free ice cream truck, DJ, dance party, games and community tables in the field adjacent to Town Hall.

Greenwich Pride is collaborating with the Town of Greenwich to host the event.

Full speaker lineup will be announced closer to June 1. Leaders will share remarks, following by the reading of a Proclamation declaring June LGBTQ Pride Month and the Pride flag raising.

Greenwich Town Hall is located at 101 Field Point Road in Greenwich.

According to organizers, LGBTQ+ people are Greenwich residents, family members, friends, neighbors, doctors and lawyers, teachers and first responders, essential workers and artists, parents and students, and so many other important members of the town. The basic human rights of LGBTQ+ people, and transgender people in particular, remain under attack. The need for visible allyship and education about LGBTQ+ lives and experiences and the need for equal rights and safety for the community is paramount. Young adults remain most vulnerable and deserve affirming and safe environments to be their true selves. Allyship is critical, as is visible leadership.

As it reads in the Greenwich Pride Proclamation that will be read on June 1, “The Town of Greenwich proudly supports the rights of every citizen to experience equality and freedom from discrimination. The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) communities contribute to the cultural, civic and economic successes of the Town of Greenwich; and we as a society acknowledge the need for education and awareness to end discrimination and prejudice.”
