Temple Sholom Celebrates Israel through Music

In celebration of Israel’s 77th Independence Day, Temple Sholom hosted a special multi-generational Yom Ha’aztma’ut concert on Sunday, May 4.

This inspiring afternoon of song, ruach (spirit) and Jewish pride featured Temple Sholom’s artist-in-residence Sheldon Low and Cantorial Soloists Mikhal Weiner and Ella Joy Meir. More than 75 people attended the performance, with many wearing blue and white, and holding Israel flags as a display of solidarity.

“It was so meaningful to be able to gather in unity through music to honor Israel’s story of resilience, hope and identity,” said Lori Baden, Executive Director. “Their powerful voices and energy transported us straight to the heart of Israeli culture.”

Following the concert, participants had the opportunity to experience the flavors of Israel with a falafel station, and deepen their connection to Israel by purchasing items from Israeli artists and learning more about Israel-based organizations.

Temple Sholom is located at 300 East Putnam Avenue in Greenwich.
