Greenwich Holiday lights are Being Installed this Week; Lights to Be Turned on Thanksgiving Night

Greenwich’s beloved holiday lights will return on Thanksgiving night, bringing warmth, joy, and festive cheer to our community. A longstanding tradition, this stunning display will once again illuminate the Greenwich Avenue Business District as well as downtown Cos Cob. Lights strung through the trees will create a magical atmosphere for residents, visitors, and local businesses alike.

The Lights are privately funded by local businesses and residents through the efforts of the Greenwich Communities Foundation, Inc, a 501(c)(3) non profit, led by Greenwich residents Sebastian Dostmann and Alyssa Keleshian-Bonomo.

“The lights make the holidays a special moment for everyone visiting our downtowns,” Dostmann and Keleshian-Bonomo said in a release. “Seeing the community come alive like this makes all the hard work—fundraising, coordinating, and marketing—so worth it.”

The lights will be turned on Thanksgiving night, when the displays will be illuminated along Greenwich Avenue, East Putnam Avenue from Church Street / Greenwich Avenue, and in Cos Cob and remain up through the end of January 2026, offering plenty of time to enjoy their beauty.

“There’s something truly magical about seeing our town lit up in unity and celebration. It’s more than decoration—it’s a symbol of how connected and vibrant our community is,” Baily Vanneck, of Miller Motorcars, a longstanding supporter, said in the release.
