Last week the Greenwich Fire Dept shared details of a devastating fire on Byfield Lane. The fire started in a detached garage and spread to main living area of the home. After about 40 minutes the fire was brought under control, but both the garage and home sustained severe damage.
Fortunately no one was injured in the fire and the community is happy that the family, the Gyeskys, is safe and have relatives nearby relatives to stay with.

The Gyeskys are a local public school family. Many know Mia Gyesky, who is a parent volunteer at Central Middle School where she is generous with her time.
Having lost the entirety of their belongings in the house fire, the Gyeskys are the beneficiaries of a GoFundMe page has been created for donations to help them rebuild. There is also information on other ways to help on the GoFundMe page, where as of Friday, $63,342 was raised out of a goal of $70,000.
