Christ Church Sunday Forum: Conflict in Israel, Palestine and Beyond

Christ Church is hosting another of their popular, free, coffee and conversation gatherings, this time featuring The Rev. Canon Nicholas Porter, who is the Executive Director of Jerusalem Peacebuilders.

The talk is scheduled for Sunday, Jan 14, 11:15 am at Christ Church Greenwich Parish Hall, 254 East Putnam Ave., Greenwich

In-person or livestream: christchurchgreenwich.org

How can we create a better future for humanity across religions, cultures, and identities?

Rev. Porter believes that the future of Jerusalem is the future of the world. When events – no matter how horrific – shape identity, they never fade away. Instead, they shape and trigger behavior on the battlefields of Gaza, Ukraine, and in our lives today.

Jerusalem Peacebuilders vision is a Jerusalem and a world where Jews, Christians, Muslims, and Druze live together as sisters and brothers in dignity, equality, and peace.

This interactive forum will be led by Rev. Porter, who is the founding director of Jerusalem Peacebuilders – a ministry of interfaith reconciliation that specializes in peace and leadership education in Jerusalem, Israel, and Palestine.

To that end, JPB promotes transformational, person-to-person encounters among the peoples of Jerusalem, Israel, Palestine, and the United States.

Rev. Nicholas Porter is a long-time resident of Europe and the Middle East, and an educator and Episcopal priest.  His academic credentials include a BA in Soviet and Middle Eastern Studies from Yale University, MA in Middle Eastern Studies from the American University in Cairo, MA in War Studies from the University of London, MA in Divinity (Theology) from Yale University.
