As part of a series of events to celebrate The Wallace Center, formerly known as the senior center, this Saturday, Sept 20, the Friends of the Wallace Center are organizing “Community Day,” a free day of fun for the entire family.
The event will run from 10:00am to 3:00 pm at 299 Greenwich Ave, home to the Wallace Center.
The event will celebrate National Senior Center Month, showcase current programs, display renderings of the future Wallace Center, and offer a change to donate.
Greenwich Country Day School students will provide live music.
The event is co-chaired by Wendy Day and Adele Rota who said the Wallace Center has members age 55 to 105.
“It’s my happy place,” Rota said in an interview on WGCH radio this week. “There is no fee to join.”
Rota explained that Mary Louise Wallace’s donation was being put in part toward renovation of the space at 299 Greenwich Ave, as well as toward evidence-based programming.
