Byram Beach remains closed (Wednesday, Aug 15) due to elevated bacteria levels from recent rainfall. All other Town beaches remain open to swimming.
The 2018 Beach Water Testing Program runs from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day for the Land Beaches and through mid September for Island Beach and Great Captain’s Island.
The town of Greenwich’s website updates its beach/swimming status daily at 9:00am if the status changes.
After the regular beach season it is not advisable to swim for one day after a 0.5 inch rainfall at Byram Beach and after a 1.0 inch rainfall at Greenwich Point.
