“Susie and Mason are experienced professionals with deep passion and commitment to Jewish learning,” said Lori Baden. “We are excited to welcome them to our staff, and continue building on our schools’ strengths to position them for continued growth and excellence. We are also deeply grateful to David Cohen for his leadership over the past decade and for helping shape our educational programs into the joyful and nurturing communities that they are today.”
Susie Weiner
Susie Weiner is a seasoned early childhood education leader with more than 30 years of knowledge as an educator, administrator, and community builder within synagogue-based and progressive school settings. Most recently, she served as the Director of the Early Childhood Center at Temple Beth El in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, where she has led the school for nearly a decade.
Under Weiner’s leadership, her school experienced remarkable growth — increasing enrollment, expanding to include an infant program, and enhancing classroom environments to support deeper experiential, child-led learning. A graduate of Bank Street College of Education, she brings a progressive, child-centered approach that integrates play-based learning, inquiry, creativity, and strong Jewish identity development.
Weiner raised her family in Connecticut, and is looking forward to returning to this community which holds special meaning.
