In an announcement on Monday afternoon, the Wine + Food (the word “Festival” is not part of this year’s event name) organizers of the event said out of concerns for the community given the uptick in Covid cases the event is postponed until spring 2022.
“In reviewing the goals and expectations of GWF events, coupled with the collaborative nature of our celebration, and new Covid restrictions, we are unable to deliver a safe, fun and secure event for our guests traveling from various towns and states to attend,” they said in an email.
“A cornerstone of GWF is bringing our guests exclusive experiences with some of their favorite icons in the culinary and music industries. As our fans and partners began to express uncertainty about how this culinary celebration would work with cases of the Delta variant on the rise, we realized they simply don’t. As a community event aiming to lift-up those in need, we will continue to explore ways we can continue to shine a light on our culinary partners and our co-beneficiaries’ missions while raising vital funds in the coming weeks and months.”
