Share Your Stories, Poems, Memoirs and More at Greenwich Pen Women’s Open Mic Night

On Thursday, November 17th at 7:00pm, Greenwich Pen Women, in collaboration with Greenwich Library, invite local writers and creatives to Open Mic Night at Cos Cob Library.

Anyone who would like to attend as well as participate can register on the Greenwich Library website calendar https://greenwichlibrary.libcal.com/event/9630695.

“The event is open to the public. Attendees can choose to participate as speakers or to listen and enjoy,” said Diane Morello of Pen Women. “At past Open Mic events we had people share a variety of their terrific work — mystery chapters, short stories, poetry, lyrics, blogs, free verse, memoirs, personal essays, science fiction, children’s stories and oral storytelling.”

To participate, sign up at the event for a 5-minute slot.

Presenters should choose material that ignites interest and energy and are encouraged to practice in advance and to watch their language, politics and religion in this public venue.

As Open Mics are live events, coordinated in real time, Greenwich Pen Women will moderate the evening by setting the stage, outlining the rules, managing the clock and inviting up the speakers.

“We have a vibrant writing community in lower Fairfield County, Connecticut. Open Mic gives people an opportunity to share their original work, meet members of Greenwich Pen Women and learn about becoming members,” Morello said.  “When writers and creatives come together to speak their work aloud, they hone their skills and amplify the power of their voices.”

Sign up to attend the November 17, 2022 Open Mic Night here: https://greenwichlibrary.libcal.com/event/9630695. Feel free to contact Diane Morello at [email protected] with any Open Mic questions.
