Riverside School Winter Musical is Phenomenal. Don’t believe me? Ask the dishes!

Riverside School’s gymnasium was transformed into a provincial French village for live performances of “Beauty and the Beast Jr.” over Martin Luther King Day weekend.

A beloved part of the Riverside School experience, this year’s Winter Musical brought fifth and fourth graders together on stage to deliver the “tale as old as time” to sold-out crowds.

The show told the classic story of Belle, a bright young woman, and the Beast, who is actually a young prince under the curse of an enchantress. The Winter Musical is sponsored by the Riverside PTA.

Fifth graders Tomas O., Kathryn C., Grace J., and Grace S. brought household objects to life on Riverside School’s stage.

Fifth graders Ella E. and Cole K. delivered rousing musical performances as Belle and the story’s gregarious villain, Gaston.

Fifth grader Xander L. played Belle’s eccentric father, Maurice, with the help of custom stage props.

Riverside School students danced and sang their way through a show-stopping rendition of “Be Our Guest.”

Belle and the Beast, played by fifth grader Jack G., were all smiles as the show came to a close.

Cast and crew of the Riverside Winter Musical worked for weeks to bring the enchanting show to life.
