An ensemble of Juilliard musicians will perform together as part of the Concerts for Compassion in support of North Greenwich Church’s “Hands of Hope” effort.
Enjoy the exquisite acoustics of the intimate chapel when Concerts for Compassion offers its varied programs of beloved classics and global music.
Concerts for Compassion was created in order to provide understanding, friendship, and hope through music.
The afternoon performance is an encouragement to the church community’s Afghan friends who are building new lives here, resettled through the steadfast support of Jewish Family Services and several Greenwich churches.
At North Greenwich Church, the women have been gathering regularly to sew, making high quality table linens, gift bags, jewelry pouches, designer purses and tote bags, as well as offering alterations services.
This Hands of Hope initiative provides a time of friendship, learning, and creativity that also helps the women to earn income and gain marketable skills for future employment. Church volunteers offer English language tutoring.
This will be an inspiring afternoon of music, where you will experience both the musical talent and compassion of these Juilliard musicians coming together to raise awareness of this important mission.
The concert is set for Saturday, April 26 . Doors open for the craft sale at 2:30 pm. The concert begins at 4:00 pm. Complimentary Admission + Suggested Donations of $25
