Excitement has built at New Lebanon School for performances of Willy Wonka Kids.
According to director and choreographer Carol Pugliano about half the fifth grade are participating.
The school is as ever grateful to the Greenwich Alliance for Education’s support. The Alliance covers most of the expenses for the production, though some staff are paid by the district through student activities.
Auditions were held last June and children began rehearsing the first week of school. Since then they have been rehearsing three days a week. And their preparedness showed on Monday at their dress rehearsal. Performances were scheduled for Tuesday, Nov 21.

New Lebanon School has always added a philanthropic element to their productions.
In the past, for Aristocats, the community donated items for Greenwich Animal Control.
For Seussical, the community donated Dr. Seuss books to a library in Puerto Rico that was lost during Hurricane Maria.
For Music Man, the community raised money for a marching band for at-risk youth in New Orleans.
And this year, since the message of Willy Wonka is about gratitude and giving, families donated five Thanksgiving meals to community members in need.
