Chelsea Piers Connecticut is proud to announce the January 2015 opening of the Dance Academy, a three-studio space featuring wood-sprung floors that offers classes for children ages three and up in ballet, tap, jazz, modern and hip hop.

Adults can also enjoy drop-in classes and multi-class workshops in a variety of dance styles, including ballroom.

The Dance Academy prides itself on serving a wide range of dance levels and interests, including beginners, those aspiring to pursue dance professionally, and adults who enjoy the fitness and workout benefits dance provides.

Classes are led by experienced, supportive instructors who have impressive performance and teaching careers.

Tied into its opening, the Dance Academy will host a weekend of Master Classes on January 10 and 11th to be used for placement of prospective students.

All are invited to stop by and observe! Participation in classes is not required.

The preview weekend will be punctuated by classes taught by current School of American Ballet faculty member, Yvonne Borree.

Prior to her position at School of American Ballet, Borree enjoyed an impressive 22-year career with the New York City Ballet, during which she was a principal dancer with the Company and was selected by Ballet Master in Chief Peter Martins to dance with guest artist and internationally-renowned ballet dancer, Mikhail Baryshnikov.
