Audition This Week for Greenwich Boys & Girls Club “The Sound of Music”

The Sound of Music is based on the memoir of Maria von Trapp, the story of the Trapp Family Singers.  The show includes “Edelweiss”, “My Favorite Things”, “Climb Ev’ry Mountain”, “Do-Re-Mi”, and the title song “The Sound of Music”.

This marks the Club’s fifth mainstage musical for kids. The theatre program at Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich is based on the belief that access to the Arts is integral to the development of society.  This program offers performance opportunities to over 150 members annually.

Christina Kampler will direct the musical with Zachary Kampler as musical director, Jennifer Dunn as choreographer (with Don Palmer, BGCG program director; Rocco Natale, artistic director emeritus).  Performances will occur April 24 & 25, 2015.  Young people ages 6-18 are encouraged to audition and should prepare an a capella song and will be required to read from a script. Participants must become a member of the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich before December 11 (annual BGCG membership is $35 for residents and $135 for non-residents whose parents work in Greenwich). For more information, call Don Palmer at (203) 869-3224 or email [email protected].

Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich offers an array of the most extensive and comprehensive programs in Greenwich to members ages 6-18.  The Club is located in a state-of-the-art facility with indoor and outdoor summer camps and serves as the leading provider of athletic leagues and competitive teams.
