Mr. Malinverni has had a career in inspirational settings including 18 years as the Minister of Music at Devoe Baptist Church, pianist and conductor at Westchester Reform Temple and Music Director at the Pound Ridge Community Church, and believes music is a sacred gift.

He has performed with a roster of accomplished musicians at Carnegie Recital Hall, the Caramoor Festival, the Rome Music and Image Festival, as well as in the classic NYC music venues, the Village Vanguard,  BIrdland, the Blue Note, the Village Gate, and more.

Mr. Malinverni will be accompanied by SUNY Purchase student musicians and discuss the musical history of Gospel Music, performing a program of songs to illustrate his timeline. This will be an extraordinary event for music and history lovers.

”Pete Malinverni is one wild cat-his playing can be dark, gritty and oddly rapturous…he digs into the piano and emerges with exotic treasure.” – Karl Stark, Philadelphia Enquirer

(Pete Malinverni’s playing is) “audacious and exquisite.” – Jim Macnie, Village Voice
