Congressman Jim Himes visited the Bruce Museum on Wednesday. In what turned out to be the Congressman’s first visit to the Museum, Himes was pleasantly surprised. During his tour he had a chance to chat with recently appointed curator of science Daniel Ksepka, who happens to be a penguin paleontologist.
Himes described the Bruce as “a jewel of an institution,” adding, “Federal investments in local arts programs help foster creativity and innovation while providing an economic boost for our communities.”
“I appreciate the arts because they provide experiences that cannot be duplicated by other means,” Himes said during the tour.
Jim Himes represents Connecticut’s 4th District in the United States House of Representatives where he is serving his third term. He is a member of both the House Committee on Financial Services and the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
Bruce Museum is located at One Museum Drive in Greenwich.
