Tarkington: Michael Mason for State Representative 151st District

Submitted by Leslie L. Tarkington

I will be voting for Michael Mason for State Representative151 st District. I know Mike well. We worked together on the Board of Estimate and Taxation (BET) for 15 years.

Mike is the most experienced candidate for the State Representative151 st District. Mike understands the State legislative framework and the Town’s structure and how they interrelate.

Mike has proven his abilities by using his knowledge of the Town Charter to serve Town residents for ten years as a member of the Town’s Representative Town Meeting and eighteen years as a member of the Town’s BET, including the last twelve years as Chair.

Mike is currently the Town’s Director of Labor Relations where he continues to use his experience base to Town advantage. As a State Representative, Mike will utilize his knowledge of State regulations to protect the Town and its residents when considering proposed State legislation.

Mike is a communicator who will meet with constituents. He will listen closely to the input from the residents of the 151 st District and stand up for their interests in Hartford.

With his decades of private sector business experience together with his dedication to fiscal discipline, Mike will work to manage state spending and lower the burden of State taxes on both the residents, whether income taxes, or proposed new taxes such as a State property tax, or the Town, including mandates for State required local services without providing corresponding funding. When in Hartford, Mike will also use his experience to protect our local property rights.

If you live in the Town’s 151 st District, please join me in voting Row B including Michael Mason, State Representative.
