Oberlander: Ready to Put My Experience to Work for You

Submitted by Jill Oberlander Candidate for State Senate – 36th District

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Eight months ago, I embarked on a journey to earn the opportunity to represent you in the state senate. Since then, I’ve knocked on thousands of doors, attended dozens of community events, visited with business owners, and talked with neighbors across Greenwich, Stamford and New Canaan. And as this campaign draws to a close, what I’ll remember most isn’t the speeches, debates or endorsements. It’s the people.

The people who opened their doors and shared what’s on their minds. The small business owners who spoke about what it’s like to run a business in this state. The parents focused on their children’s futures. The seniors worried about being able to afford to stay in the communities they love. And so many people who simply want our politics to be less divisive and our government to work better.

Those conversations have reinforced for me why public service matters.

As an attorney and through years of service in Greenwich town government — on the town legislature, the Board of Selectmen and as chair of our finance board — I’ve learned that good results start with listening. It means looking at the facts, finding common ground, making responsible decisions, and then doing the hard work of delivering solutions. It means putting people ahead of politics, and remembering who we work for. This campaign has only strengthened that belief.

I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has joined me along the way – all the supporters who have given so much of themselves to this campaign. It has been the privilege of a lifetime to get to know this district even better and to hear directly from so many of you.

I would be honored to be your next state senator — to bring my experience and your voices with me to Hartford, put our community first, and get to work for you. I respectfully ask for your vote on November 3.

Warmly, Jill Oberlander

Candidate for State Senate – 36th District
