Central Middle school 8th graders, Lilia Dubin and Jagger Levine have been busy planning their unique Capstone project.

Noting that dance classes typically expensive, and many people don’t get enough exercise, Lilia and Jagger had the idea to teach a free dance class.
The class is set for May 24 from 11:00am to 12:00 noon at Sportsplex 49 Brown House Rd, Stamford, CT 06902.
Lilia said their goal is to help create accessibility to dance for those who cannot afford the high costs of dance classes.
“I am thrilled to share the joy of dance with those in Greenwich!” Jagger said.
Jagger, who has been dancing since she was very young and joined a competitive team to further her training said, “I have noticed a common theme with dancing: the high costs are never-ending, costumes, teachers, studio time, the list goes on.”
“Without dance, I truly would not know who I would be, emotionally and physically, which is why I am bringing the joy and benefits of dance to everyone. Whether you are a good dancer or not, I welcome everyone to come and join me for a dance class.”
Lilia, who has been dancing since she was 4, and would just dance around her house, is now part of two dance companies, Dance Adventure and Maddies Dance Studio.
“I have noticed that in the past few years, older and younger people aren’t getting enough exercise, which is bad for your physical health and mental health, and it can affect how you move in the future. So this is why Jagger and I, for our Capstone project, are hosting a free dance class that anyone can come to, if you’re a good dancer or not. We hope to see you there,” she said.
The girls promise a “high energy, low impact workout.”
The class will be led by the middle schoolers and an administrator will be on hand as part of the Capstone project to bring awareness to the benefits of dance.
Come dressed in active wear that you can move around in.
All ages are welcome. Full families are encourage to sign up.
