Dogwood Books and Christ Church Greenwich Parishioners Step up to Help Neighbor to Neighbor

In the spirit of Christmas giving, Christ Church Greenwich parishioners stepped up to help Neighbor to Neighbor, located on the church campus.

As part of the initiative, parishioners were invited to take home unused grocery bags following Sunday services. Each bag included a stapled list of urgently needed food items. Participants were asked to fill the bags during the week and return them the following Sunday—a collective effort that quickly filled shelves and hearts alike.

In addition to the grocery donation, Dogwood Books & Gifts, Christ Church Greenwich’s bookstore, recently hosted a Sip & Shop fundraising event benefiting Neighbor to Neighbor. Ten percent of the proceeds were donated, resulting in a $750 contribution, presented by bookstore manager Margaret Clark to the organization. A photo commemorates the moment as part of the parish’s ongoing commitment to caring for the wider community.

“These efforts reflect who we are as a parish,” said Christ Church Greenwich Rector, Marek Zabriskie. “When we see a need, we respond together—with generosity, intention, and love.”

Neighbor to Neighbor’s mission is to strengthen the Greenwich community by providing weekly access to nutritious food, clothing, and other essentials at no cost to income-eligible residents, all within an atmosphere of kindness and respect. The grocery drive directly supports that mission, helping ensure consistent access to healthy food for neighbors in need. For more info, visit ntngreenwich.org
