Submitted by Rachel Khanna, Democratic Greenwich Selectwoman
On Monday, December 1, I was sworn in as Selectwoman for the Town of Greenwich. Just as when I served the town through the Parkway School PTA, the Representative Town Meeting (RTM), and as State Representative, the opportunity to serve as Selectwoman is an enormous privilege and I don’t take it lightly.
I first moved to the United States at the age of eight. I never imagined that one day I’d become a state legislator and now a Selectwoman for Greenwich, which has been my family’s home for the past 25 years. My husband and I have raised our 4 daughters, 5 dogs and 2 cats here!
My early experiences taught me to seize opportunities, work hard and do what was necessary to adapt to my new surroundings. So as your Selectwoman, you can count on me to:
-
Never shy away from a challenge
-
Approach everything with an open mind
-
Listen
-
And to foster inclusion and belonging because we thrive when we work together.
I’m energized to engage with the Board of Estimate and Taxation, the Board of Education, and the RTM. I’m here to serve everyone, across age and political spectrums. I will look out for all our families and businesses who call Greenwich home. I promise to lead with transparency and accountability. I look forward to serving you all.
