YWCA Greenwich’s Camp TAYITO is halfway through Summer 2025, and it has been a blast! Camp TAYITO is split into two 4-week sessions that include 11 groups of children ages 5-12, all adding up to 254 campers for the summer. With Session 1 finished, Session 2 has started up, with lots of new faces, and returning ones from the Session 1, as well.
Camp TAYITO is jam-packed with a range of fun activities: sports instruction, water activities, arts and crafts, and theme days that get kids in the camp spirit. A highlight from Session 1 was Color Wars and their camp-wide Tug of War competition! Camp TAYITO also takes campers on lots of field trips during the summer. This year, campers have gone to the beach, a Mets baseball game, a Connecticut Suns basketball game, SplashDown Waterpark, Boundless Adventures, BounceU, Bowlero, and the Maritime Aquarium.

Doug Simmons, a parent of one the campers, said, “Every single staff member is so friendly. It makes me especially grateful to have the YWCA nearby. Arthur and his staff make it feel like a utopia.”
The Director of Youth Programs at YWCA Greenwich, Arthur Smith, and his highly trained camp staff are constantly coming up with new things to keep the days interesting and fun for the children. Their dedication and creativity are what keeps campers coming back year after year.

“This summer has been great so far,” said Arthur. “I am very appreciative of my staff and the work they do to make Camp TAYITO so enjoyable for the kids. I can’t believe the summer is almost over.”
Camp TAYITO is accredited by the American Camp Association. Only two other camp programs in Greenwich have received this distinction.
