Multiple Charges for Dirt Bike Driver Who Engaged Greenwich Police in Pursuit

Greenwich Police were monitoring traffic in the area of West Putnam Ave and East Weaver Street on Saturday when they spotted a full size off-road motorcycle (dirt bike) operated by a driver with no registration plate visible.

Police attempted to stop the dirt bike, but the operator failed to comply with audible commands, sirens and emergency lights.

Police said that from there the dirt bike headed east on Holly Hill Lane where he began to travel at a high rate of speed and fail to yield to a clearly posted an visible stop sign at the intersection of Holly Hill Lane and St. Roch Ave,but did not see the vehicle again.

Further investigation led to the positive identification of the driver, Damian Vinicio Loor, 19, of Greenwich. Contact was made with Mr. Loor, who took responsibility for failing to comply with the motor vehicle stop and turned himself in.

He was charged with Operating an Unregistered Vehicle, Speeding, Disobeying Signal of Officer, Engaging Police in Pursuit, Operating Motorcycle without Insurance, Failure to Obey Stop Sign an Operating Motorcycle without Endorsement.

He was released on a promise to appear and has a date in Stamford Superior Court on May 6, 2024.
