Burglaries in Greenwich Continue: Six So Far in January

Since January 1 there have been about a half dozen burglaries in Greenwich.

On Monday, a home on Clapboard Ridge Rd was burgled when a door was forced. Jewelry was taken. Also on Monday a home on Zaccheus Mead Lane was burgled during the overnight hours.

On the 13th, a home in Old Greenwich on Willowmere Ave, which is under construction, was burgled.

Also on the 13th, a home on Hidden Brook Drive was ransacked and jewelry was taken.

Earlier in the month a home on Lenox Drive in central Greenwich was broken into and cash was taken.

Over in Pemberwick on Jan 10 a home on Halock Drive was burgled after a rear sliding door was broken. That house was ransacked.

Greenwich Police Lt. Gray said Greenwich has its share of burglaries, but that there is a high clearance rate on these crimes. “Take proactive steps to keeping safe,” he advised. “Use an alarm. Arrange for your neighbors to watch your house.” Gray said that dogs are a disincentive to burglars. “If you see suspicious activity, contact Greenwich Police and let us come and investigate.”
