In the end they made it look easy, but when they crossed the finish line after their 64th lap around the track in Cardinal Stadium in conga-line formation, the GHS students collapsed on the turf.

The “Conga4All” event had the goal of beating the Guinness World Record for the longest distance danced in a Conga line, which was nearly 16 miles.
The effort also had a goal of raising $20,000 for River House Adult Day Center.
Conga 4 All benefited from many volunteers who carefully recorded the progress of the conga line. Special cameras were set up as well – all with an eye to validating the record-breaking accomplishment.
By the end of their final, 64th lap, the fundraiser for River House Adult Day Center had raised about $8,500.

The event was organized by rising senior Omar Galal, who led the conga line while volunteers blasted music, including, of course, Gloria Estefan’s infamous, “Come on, shake your body baby, do the conga I know you can’t control any longer…”
