Paula Kerger, President & CEO of PBS to Deliver Greenwich Academy Commencement Address 2016

Paula Kerger, President and CEO of PBS, will deliver the graduation address at Greenwich Academy’s 189th commencement on Thursday, May 19.

Since assuming leadership of PBS in 2006, Ms. Kerger has made a particularly strong commitment to the arts, news and public affairs, high-quality content for education, diversity, and the use of new technology to bring public media into the lives of all.

Her programming accomplishments include “Downton Abbey”; the Ken Burns’s 2012 documentary, “The Dust Bowl”; and the debut of acclaimed children’s series such as “The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That” and “Sid the Science Kid.”

Ms. Kerger is regularly included in the Hollywood Reporter’s “Women in Entertainment Power 100,” an annual survey of the nation’s top women executives in media. She is a director of the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and a member of the board of the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of Natural History.

“Ms. Kerger is an exceptional role model, and is to be admired for her leadership, innovation and commitment to public service,” said Head of School Molly King. “The Greenwich Academy Class of 2016 and the rest of GA community are honored to have her as our commencement speaker.”
