Greenwich Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Toni Jones announced today the appointment of Ms. Delis DeLeon as assistant principal of New Lebanon School, effective immediately.
DeLeon replaces Lindsey Eisenstein, who was named the assistant principal of Cos Cob School at the end of the 2025-2026 school year.
“Ms. Delis DeLeon has a phenomenal history of ensuring top academic performance for her students,” Dr. Jones said. “She is passionate about every student finding success, while collaborating and supporting her colleagues. The interview committee, composed of parents and teachers, found her inspiring. Ms. DeLeon is also an educator who values the home to school connection, starting her career as a family liaison representative as she worked to complete her education degree.”
Many in the New Lebanon community are familiar with Ms. DeLeon because she was a fourth grade teacher for the Blue Ribbon School during the 2025-2026 school year, Prior to her arrival to GPS, she served as a Special Education teacher at Hyde Park Central School District’s Violet Avenue School in Poughkeepsie NY from 2022 through 2025 and the Bronx’s P.S. 294 The Walton Avenue School from 2017 through 2022. From 2013 through 2016, she held the position of parent coordinator at the Walton Avenue School where she acted as a liaison between parents and school administration, and conducted daily parent outreach regarding any student concerns, attendance, and enrichment programs and opportunities for students.
“My first year with Greenwich Public Schools has truly felt like coming home, and I am ready to continue my work at New Lebanon School in a new capacity,” Ms. DeLeon said. “Transitioning into the assistant principal role provides even greater opportunities to collaborate with students, families, and staff while building on the exceptional progress and accomplishments achieved under Dr. Russo’s leadership.”
“Ms. DeLeon’s journey from parent leader to Special Education teacher and now assistant principal reflects a deep and sustained commitment to student success and community partnership,” Dr. Russo said. “Her consistent focus on inclusive, student-centered practices has strengthened outcomes for all learners. We will partner together to continue advancing opportunities for our students and families at New Lebanon School.”
Ms. DeLeon earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Pace University and a master’s in Early Childhood and Special Education from Manhattan University. She also holds a certification in School Building Leadership from the College of Saint Rose.
