Mayo Announces Pupil Personnel Services Appointment

Interim Superintendent of Schools Ralph Mayo announced the appointment of Ms. Krystina Dawson as the Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Administrator for the District. We will begin the transition immediately and Ms. Dawson will
assume full time responsibilities as soon as we have her replacement on board.

Ms. Dawson is currently a school psychologist with the Greenwich Public Schools, working as a member of the district evaluation team.

The PPS Administrator oversees the district evaluation team, students placed out of district, professional learning, the Extended School Year program and Occupational Therapy/Physical Therapy services.

Chief PPS Officer Mary Forde said, “We were fortunate during the interview process to have the opportunity to meet with a number of highly qualified, enthusiastic candidates.”

Forde said that throughout the conversations, Ms. Dawson stood out as someone with both special education and PPS background, as well as building and district level experience.

“She also understands the culture and procedures of Greenwich and is able to step right in to her new responsibilities,” Forde said.

Administrative candidates are selected after a comprehensive search and appointment process, which includes widespread recruitment efforts, multiple interviews, and extensive reference and background checks.

Ms. Dawson began her career in education with the Greenwich Public Schools in 2012 as a School Psychologist and a member of the District Evaluation Team. She has served as a School Psychologist for the GPS elementary summer school program since 2013, and in an interim assistant principal role. She is also an adjunct professor at Iona College in New Rochelle, NY.

Ms. Dawson received a bachelor of arts degree in English from Pace University, Pleasantville, NY in 2009; a master of science degree in School Psychology from Long Island University, Purchase, NY in 2012; and completed the educational leadership program at Sacred Heart University, Trumbull, CT in 2017.
