In anticipation of the extreme cold weather forecasted for Friday morning, all Greenwich Public Schools will be operating on a TWO-hour delayed opening schedule on Friday, February 1, 2019.
The National Weather Service is forecasting Arctic high pressure settling over the tri-state area Thursday night with the winds gradually diminishing after midnight.
It will be another very cold night, with lows ranging from around zero across inland locations, to mainly middle and supper single digits closer to the coast.
Wind chills will range mainly from 0° to 10° below into early Friday morning.
On Friday the high pressure will remain in the region and it will remain dry. Clouds will increase during the morning. With lighter winds, it will not feel as harsh as temperatures climb mainly into the lower and middle 20°s during the afternoon.
