Greenwich Public Schools to Host International researchED Conference

From Greenwich Public Schools

GPS will host researchED Greenwich on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Greenwich High School. This international education conference will gather education researchers and authors from both the United States and Europe for a dynamic day of learning with the theme, “Unleashing the Science of Learning.”

researchED is a grassroots, research-in-education conference intended to create open, evidence-informed discussions between educators and researchers. A regular occurrence in Europe, GPS is just the second public school system to host researchED in the United States. Educators and academics from across the country and abroad are expected to attend.

“Greenwich Public Schools continue to educate all students to the highest levels of academic achievement,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Toni Jones said. “We have become the preferred destination for educators in our region and are proud to host an international audience.”

More than 20 confirmed speakers are scheduled to participate, including nationally known authors Patrice Bain, Kim Marshall, Natalie Wexler, Allison Rodman, and Robert Pondiscio. They will be joined by researchED Founder Tom Bennett and other international participants.

Teachers and administrators from across GPS will similarly present and showcase their dynamic work linking theory and practice.

Greenwich BOE member Dr. Michael-Joseph Mercanti-Anthony will serve as chair of the event. The district is in the process of forming an organizing committee of teachers, parents, staff, and community members to realize the conference.

“This is a terrific opportunity for Greenwich,” said Dr. Mercanti-Anthony. “The caliber of presenters coming to Greenwich is a testament to the great things happening here. We are excited to host conference attendees from across the country.”

Registration for the conference is open to all members of the education and Greenwich communities, with a cost of $65 per person. Interested attendees should register online at https://researched.org.uk/event/researched-greenwich-usa/.
