GHS Class of 2025 Graduation Date, Last Day of School Announced

The Greenwich Board of Education BOE met and voted Thursday night on a graduation date.

The GHS Class of 2025 will graduate in Cardinal Stadium on Tuesday, June 17, 2025.

“Families can book those dinner reservations and grandparents, friends, and siblings can book those plane tickets. Go Cardinals,” Greenwich Schools superintendent Dr. Toni Jones said in a district email to families.

More information on graduation is available on the GHS website here.

Also, the Board of Education approved the last day of school as Tuesday, June 17, 2025.

According to a not to district families on Friday, Dr. Jones said it was important to keep in mind that if the district should miss a day of school for any reason (storms, loss of power in the schools, etc.), those would be added on as by law students must be in school 180 days.

“Fingers crossed strange weather stays away,” she said, adding she hoped the announcement will help families plan early for summer getaways and camps.

Sixth and ninth grades will finish on Monday, June 16 because they started a day early.

Public Hearing on School Budget

In other school news, the Board of Estimate and Taxation (BET) scheduled a public hearing specifically for school budget discussions on Wednesday, March 26 at Central Middle School starting at 7:00pm.

In addition to this opportunity, members of the BET have made it clear that they welcome feedback electronically by heading to the town’s website and utilizing the new Form Center.

Hope Day

Community partners at Kids in Crisis and Greenwich Together are holding their third annual Hope Day on Sunday, April 6 from 1:00-4:00pm at Arch Street Teen Center to help Greenwich youth, teens, families, and adults come together to smash the stigma around mental health challenges.

YouTube Access in K-5

Also, Jones said, this week, GPS is adjusting student online access in K-5, eliminating YouTube’s availability in response to a request from administrators, teachers, PTAC, and many families given some of the content is not necessary for the youngest learners.

“Teachers will maintain their full access for curriculum purposes and may still use their vetted material with students,” Jones said. “A special thanks to Chief Technology Officer Michael Ting and his technicians for working to solve this issue for us and offer a different level of filtering by developmental age level.”
