The District announced that the restoration and environmental consultants, and Town officials are continuing their evaluation of the extent of damage sustained and restoration work required.
Additionally, due to the uncertainty of the situation, the Grade Five Ropes Field Trip scheduled for October 10 has also been cancelled.
Original story: Cos Cob School was closed on Monday, Oct 8 due to a water leak from a broken pipe.
The district announced that Cos Cob School will be closed Tuesday, Oct 9 due to ongoing assessment of damage as a result of a water leak.
According to a statement from Greenwich Schools, restoration and environmental consultants, and Town officials, among others are or will be on-site to assess the damage, conduct air-quality testing, and to estimate the clean up and restoration plan and timeline.
District and school administrators are reviewing plans to address impacted classrooms in order to be able to resume school as soon as possible.
Once the assessments have been completed, the District will have a better idea of the timeline.
The Cos Cob School Open House scheduled for Thursday, October 11 is canceled and will be rescheduled for a later date, to be determined.
