Greenwich Police arrested two women on the afternoon of August 6 after plainclothes officers spotted suspicious activity in a retail store on Greenwich Avenue.
The co-conspirators, Latasha I Williams, 33, of Rockaway Beach, NY and Kimberly A Brown, 34, of Hempstead, NY, were detained and an on-scene investigation revealed that they conspired to return several items that had been stolen to the retail store totaling a financial loss of over $1600 as they exchanged the items.
Latasha Williams was also found to be in possession of numerous fraudulent identification documents.
Additionally a foil lined bag (booster bag) and magnets were discovered within the car Ms Brown was driving, along with other stolen merchandise from other jurisdictions.
The juvenile child of Ms Williams was with her during the incident.
She was charged with:

Risk of Injury to Child
Larceny 4
Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 4
Illegal Possession of Shoplifting Device (2 counts)
Identity Theft 3
Conspiracy to Commit Identity theft 3
Criminal Impersonation
Conspiracy to Commit Criminal Impersonation (2 counts)
Forgery 1st degree (4 counts)
Conspiracy to Commit Forgery 1 (4 counts)
Conspiracy to Commit Forgery 2 (12 counts)

She was able to post her $40,000 bond and was assigned a date in Stamford Superior Court on Aug 21, 2024.
Ms Brown was also found to be in possession of numerous fraudulent identification documents including counterfeit passports and driver’s licenses. Additionally a foil-lined tote bag (booster bag) and magnets were discovered within the car she was driving, along with other stolen merchandise from other jurisdictions.
She was charged with:

Her bond was set at $75,000, which she was unable to post. She was not released from custody.
She shares the date in court with Ms Williams on August 21, 2024.
