Woman Who Crashed on Pemberwick Rd Charged with DUI, Risk of Injury to a Child

On Friday afternoon a Shelton woman came to police headquarters to turn herself in on an active arrest warrant relating to an incident that took place in the area of Buena Vista Drive and Pemberwick Rd on Oct 27, 2019 around 3:00am.

Police say that Ana Patricia DeWitt was involved in a crash on Pemberwick Rd, suffered non-life threatening injuries, and was transported to a local hospital.

During the course of the subsequent investigation, it was learned that a two-year-old child was supposed to be in her care.

The child was located, alone but unharmed, at a local residence. Police obtained an arrest warrant for Dewitt.

Ana Dewitt, 22, of Naugatuck Ave in Shelton was charged with Risk of Injury to a Child, Failure to Drive in Proper Lane, DUI and Failure to Wear Seat Belt.

DeWitt’s bond was set at $25,000, which she was able to post. She was assigned a date in Stamford Superior Court on Dec 13, 2019.
