An Old Saybrook woman was arrested by Greenwich Police for allegedly stealing a dress on West Putnam Avenue on Friday afternoon.
Police responded to a retail store on a report of suspected larceny. The store manager followed the suspect to the parking lot and recorded the vehicle’s license plate. Using that information officers located the vehicle a short time later on Greenwich Avenue.
The suspect denied stealing the dress but matched the description provided by the store manager.
The manager responded to the scene and positively identified the woman as the suspect. The stolen dress, valued at $168.00, was in the back seat of the suspect’s vehicle.
Police charged Jill Marie Cunniffe, 55, with Larceny 6. She was processed and released on a promise to appear in Stamford Superior Court on March 22, 2024.
