Woman Charged after Breaking into Cos Cob Residence at 2:00am

Around 2:00am on September 25, Greenwich Police were dispatched to Cross Lane in Cos Cob where there was a report that a woman had broken in to a residence and possibly had a warrant for her arrest.

Dispatch provided officers a description of the suspect, Carolyn Podgurski, 51, of 3 Ledge Terrace in Stamford, and she was stopped by officers on East Putnam Avenue.

At the Cross Lane residence, officers found a broken window pane and determined Podgurski had entered the residence where she was not welcome. Further, police determined she had startled a resident who was sleeping and then found Podgurski standing in the living room.

Podgurski was charged with Criminal Trespass 2, Disorderly Conduct and Criminal Mischief 3. Her bond was set at $5,000 and she was assigned a date in Stamford Superior Court.

For the active arrest warrant out of Stamford, she was also charged with Failure to appear in Court 2nd degree. That added a $25,000 bond, which she was unable to post.
