Window Smashed, MacBooks Stolen from Locked Car on Greenwich Ave

This week, Nextdoor Greenwich was buzzing with comments in response to a post from a person who described having purchased a new MacBook from the Apple store on Greenwich Avenue and then locked it in their car before running another errand, only to find the car window smashed and the computer gone.

On Wednesday a customer who had just purchased a new MacBook from the Apple Store on Greenwich Avenue placed it on the back seat of their vehicle next to an older MacBook.

According to police the shopper then proceeded to lock and leave his vehicle.

An unknown suspect broke a rear window of the vehicle and stole both MacBooks.

“It is unknown if the victim was observed putting the newly purchased MacBook in the vehicle and then walk away or if the two MacBooks were just observed sitting on the rear seat by the suspect,” said Lt Patrick Smyth at Greenwich Police Dept.

Lt. Smyth advised residents not to leave valuable belongings visible in a car when unattended.
