On Friday close to midnight, CT State Police Troop G received multiple 911 calls about a car crash on I95 south in the area of Exit 5 in Old Greenwich.
The first car, a BMW X3 driven by a Queens, NY woman Neeta Kumar, 65, was in the center lane while an Audi A6 driven by Christopher Ramirez, 19, of Port Chester was traveling in the left lane.
For an unknown reason the Audi struck the rear driver side of the BMW and then subsequently struck the rear of a third vehicle, which fled the scene.
Ms Kumar and her passenger in the BMW reported no injuries, but Mr. Ramirez in the Audi seriously injured. He was transported by EMS to Stamford Hospital.
The driver of the third vehicle that fled the scene remains unknown.
CT State Police report that the weather was clear, the roadway was dry, and traffic was light.
CT State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad responded to the scene to assist Troop G with the investigation, which is ongoing.
