Two More Unlocked Cars Stolen from Greenwich in the Overnight Hours

Greenwich Police announced that two cars were stolen in recent days.

The first was a 2020 Land Rover that was taken from a residence on the east side of town, south of East Putnam Ave, in the overnight hours between Aug 26 and Aug 27.

According to Lt Martin O’Reilly, the keys were in the vehicle and it was unlocked. 

The vehicle was tracked to Waterbury where it was recovered after two subjects ran from the car. One juvenile was arrested and the second suspect got away on foot.

A second car was a 2016 Audi !-6 that was stolen from mid country in the overnight hours between Aug 28 and Aug 29.

This car also had the keys in the vehicle which was unlocked.

The vehicle has not been recovered.


“Residents need to lock their vehicles and remove the keys when they are not operating it,” O’Reilly said.
