Truck Driver Runs Red Light by Exit 5, Gets Busted on Multiple Charges

On Oct 18, Greenwich Police stopped a commercial truck on East Putnam Ave near the Exit 5 northbound on ramp for a red light violation at about 12:30am.

Scott Zemina, 58, of 9 Laurel View Park in Wallingford was arrested and charged with Illegal Operation of a Motor Vehicle without ID, Failure to Obey Traffic Signal and Operation of Commercial Motor Vehicle without Commercial License.

Investigation revealed that Mr. Zemina had a disqualified CDL License and was driving a truck requiring one.

Further investigation revealed that Mr. Zemina was required to have an Ignition Interlock Device in his truck, which he did not.

He was able to post his $1,500 bond and assigned a court date on October 24, in Stamford Superior Court.
