Trio of Shoplifters Busted after Incident at LF on Greenwich Ave

Three women were arrested on August 14 by Greenwich Police after a shoplifting incident on Greenwich Avenue.

At about 2:20pm, Greenwich Police responded to LF Stores at 319 Greenwich Ave, on a report of a Larceny. A description of three suspects was provided. Suspects matching the description were spotted driving in the area. Inside of the car, clothing with tags from LF  had a combined total value of $2,370. Also in the vehicle were items of clothing from Free People that also had the tags attached. Those items totaled $1,030.

Officers observed that anti-theft devices on the Free People clothing had been wrapped in tin foil to prevent them from activating the store alarm. All three subjects were placed under arrest.

Karla Kalesha Beckford Watkis, 24, of Bronx, NY was also arrested. She was charged with Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 3, Larceny 3, Larceny 4, Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 4, Possession of Shoplifting Device, and Conspiracy to Commit/Possession of Shoplifting Device. Watkis bond was set at $5,000, which she was unable to post. She was being held in Greenwich Police custody as of Aug. 14 awaiting a court date in Stamford on Aug 29, 2016.

The third suspect, Schontal K Oddman, 26, of Bronx NY was charged with Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 3, Larceny 3, Larceny 4, Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 4, Possession of Shoplifting Device, and Conspiracy to Commit/Possession of Shoplifting Device. Oddman also has a court date in Stamford Superior Court on Aug. 29, 2016.
