Trio Charged after Shoplifting Incident on Greenwich Avenue

A trio from Newark, NJ were arrested by Greenwich Police on April 7 for a shoplifting incident on Greenwich Avenue.

When police responded, they made contact with Brianna Grier, 26, who was seen on video surveillance climbing a display and stealing clothing items valued at $710.00. After she attempted to flee, she was apprehended and arrested.

She was charged with Interfering with an Officer/Resisting, Illegal Possession of Shoplifting Device, Larceny 5, Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 5 and Misuse of Plate.

Also charged were Ricky Fernando Santiago, 25, and Aliyah Napier, 24.

All three suspects immediately left the store in unison immediately after the theft.

Santiago and Napier were both placed into custody as they had engaged with and supported Grier in the larceny.

A search of Grier’s bag revealed wire cutters, a known shoplifting tool. Additionally the license plate on the vehicle they were driving was misused.

Grier was unable to post her bond of $100,000. She has a date in Stamford Superior Court on May 5, 2021.

Napier and Santiago were each charged with Larceny 5 and Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 5. Bond was set at $2500, for each. Both were able to post bond and share a date in Stamford Superior Court on May 5, 2021.
