Three Stamford Juveniles Questioned in Vehicle Larcenies

According to Greenwich Police several cars were rummaged through on Hassake Rd, Amherst Rd and Old Kings Highway in on Sunday, Nov. 22. All incidents were near the Stamford line just off Havemeyer.

According to Lt. Gray at Greenwich Police Dept, the spree of vehicle larcenies took place in the early morning hours. Coins and cell phones were taken from inside the parked cars in the residential neighborhood.

Police were contacted by a witness in the neighborhood, who saw trio of boys going into the parked cars.  Subsequently Greenwich Police were able to catch three juveniles from Stamford who were then detained. All were under 18.

Lt. Gray said that police are not ruling out that the vehicle larcenies are related to the spate of incidents of mailbox vandalism. The mailboxes were damaged on MacArthur Drive, Mimosa Drive, Cognewaugh Rd, Sundance and Walnut St. in the early morning hours of Nov. 21.
