Thanksgiving DUI for Riverside Woman

On Nov. 26 at about 11:30pm, Greenwich Police observed a Honda CRV swerving and cross over the double yellow line on Mason St. in the area of East Elm St. before abruptly swerving back into the appropriate north bound lane.

Police conducted a motor vehicle stop of the Honda near E Elm St and Liberty Way. During the course of the investigation officers detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the operator, identified by her Mexican Consulate Identification as Marbel Rojas-Cruz, 43, of 26 Sheephill Rd.

Rojas-Cruz was unable to provide a valid driver’s license at the time of the stop.

She was asked to submit to a series of Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, to which she complied and subsequently failed.

As a result of the investigation Rojas-Cruz was placed under arrest and charged with DUI, Unsafe Movement and Operation of a Motor Vehicle without a License.

She was able to post her set bond of $250 and was released from custody. She has a date in Court on Dec. 7 in Stamford Superior Court.
