Troopers spotted the Tesla traveling approximately 30 mph with its four-way hazard lights activated in the center lane and the operator slumped over, presumably asleep behind the wheel while the vehicle was driving.
A traffic stop was conducted based on the violations observed, and the operator was identified as Guido Daniel Reinoso-Gallegos, 19, of Garden City, NY. After speaking with Reinoso-Gallegos, Troopers identified several signs of impairment, and requested he perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. Reinoso-Gallegos failed to perform the tests to standard. Hewas arrested without incident and transported to Troop H for processing.
Reinoso-Gallego was charged with:
C.G.S. 14-227a – Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol and/or Drugs
C.G.S. 14-222 – Reckless Driving
C.G.S. 14-220(a) – Operating a Motor Vehicle at Too Slow Speed
C.G.S. 53a-64 – Reckless Endangerment in the Second Degree
Reinoso-Gallego was released on a $1,500 bond and issued a court date on May 5, 2025 in New Britain Superior Court.
