Suspicious Car Leads to Drug & Risk of Injury to a Minor Charges

Andre D Finch, 28, of 400 Blake Street in New Haven was arrested on Dec. 13 at about 4:45pm on West Putnam Ave.

On that day, Police conduced a motor vehicle stop of a suspicious car in a closed local car dealership. While conducting the investigation, a second vehicle associated with the investigation came to the attention of police.

While interviewing the operator of the second car, it was found that the operator had provided police with a false name.

Further, the odor of marijuana emanated from inside the vehicle, leading the police to search the vehicle for contraband. The search of the car led to the seizure of a quantity of suspected marijuana, a digital scale and packaging materials, plus a large amount of cash — all of which are indicative of possession of marijuana with intent to sell.

Further, the driver also had a 4-year-old child with him in the car with the suspected marijuana. The accused was transported to Greenwich Police headquarters where he was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Illegal Manufacture/Distribution/Sale; Illegal Possession of Marijuana, Injury/Risk/Impairing Morals of a Child, and Interfering with an Officer.

Finch’s bond was set at $1,000. He has a court date on Dec. 21, 2015 at Stamford Superior Court.
