Update: The 37-year-old Rye Brook victim in an assault that led to the arrest of Hugo Soto-Diaz, had died according to according to Westchester County. The woman had been found in her residence on Westview Ave. The cause of death had not been determined is pending toxicology tests, according to News Channel 12. Her name has not been released.
Original story, April 1: Rye Brook Police Dept responded to a residence on Westview Ave on a report of a dispute on Monday morning. According to a release, upon arriving, officers located a 37-year old female assault victim inside the residence, unconscious and not breathing. Officers began CPR on the victim and detained a man in the residence. EMS arrived shortly thereafter and administered life saving measures. The victim is currently in critical but stable condition.
Rye Brook Police detectives began an investigation with the assistance of Westchester County District Attorney’s office and the Westchester County Dept of Public Safety.
Hugo Soto-Diaz, 30, who resides at the address of the incident, was charged with second degree attempted murder and arraigned in Rye Town Court. He is currently being held at Westchester County Jail.
