Suspect Arrested by Warrant in Catalytic Converter Theft in Byram

On Thursday Greenwich Police announced they had made an arrest stemming from an incident last May on Henry Street in Byram involving the theft of a catalytic converter.

On Wednesday Bridgeport Police apprehended the suspect, Joshua Dejesus, 24, of Bridgeport, who was wanted by warrant.

The warrant originated from the May 28, 2022 theft in Byram, during which the suspects displayed a large Sawzall Tool (reciprocating saw) and threatened to use a firearm.

Mr. Dejesus was charged with Criminal Mischief 1, Conspiracy to Commit Criminal Mischief 1, Larceny 4, Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 4, Robbery 1 with Deadly Weapon and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery 1 with Deadly Weapon.

His bond was set at $250,000 which a bail bondsman posted for Mr. Dejesus, who was then released from custody.

Dejesus has a date in Stamford Superior Court on April 5, 2023.
