Stamford Police Share Video Following Armed Robbery; Seek Tips

Stamford Police are requesting help to identify an armed robbery suspect who entered the Latino Grocery Stores at 87 Stillwater Ave on April 1 around 9:20pm.

Stamford Police say a heavy set Hispanic man entered the store, came up behind two customers holding a black 9mm type handgun and ordered them to the floor.

He then pointed the gun at the store clerk demanding money.

The Stamford Advocate quoted the police as saying the robber took a handful of money, and stopped to give $20 back before apologizing, saying, ‘Sorry bro, corona,’ in Spanish to the bodega clerk.

The suspect then fled.

The suspect is described as a short, heavy set Hispanic man who was wearing a white bandana around his face, gray cap, gray hooded sweatshirt, black latex gloves, dark cargo pants and brown boots.
